SHIPBUILDING SPECIALIST

You will serve as a Shipbuilding Specialist in the Waterfront Operations Department (WFO) Small Craft and IDIQ Division of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.


  • You will resolve matters pertaining to the manufacturing and repair processes of ships.
  • You will provide detailed cost estimates for new work projects and modifications to original work specifications.
  • You will utilize a comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding methods, practices, techniques and management control systems for overhauling, repairing and testing surface ships and small crafts.
  • You will review blueprints and specifications for comprehension and dissemination.
  • You will maintain material control and investigate availability of material and time for contracted projects.

Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience serving as a liaison between the contractor and technical authorities by planning and answering inspection deficiency reports. Experience monitoring contractor's technical compliance and progress relative to assigned contract/orders. Experience accepting or rejecting testing of ships systems utilizing contracting methods and contract types relating to the performance of pre-award, post-award and/or contract price/cost analyst functions.
