Security Specialist (TITLE 32)
This National Guard position is for a Security Specialist (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1277000 and is part of the FL SMO, National Guard.
As a Security Specialist, GS-0080-11, you will initiate and implement policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources. Acts as resident expert on all SCI security matters. Functions as the technical authority in all other areas of classified security and classification guidance. Duties require incumbent to maintain currency on a variety of different security program interrelationships, requirements, regulations and guidance in order to apply this knowledge to protect SCI facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Must have at least one year experience at the GS-09 level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; experience in research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security; experience in conducting intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices that are necessary to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions; experience implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information programs and to protect sensitive compartmented information resources; experience which demonstrates knowledge as a technical specialist on sensitive compartmented information security matters, as well as, other areas of classified security and classification guidance.
