  • Serves as senior Level I responder for issues affecting DLA's world-wide enterprise IT production capabilities, including networks, applications, hardware and information systems.
  • Records incidents in a Problem Management Database, dispatches Level II/III technicians, and keeps DLA management and appropriate stakeholders apprised of incident status from start through identification of root cause and final resolution.
  • Coordinates problem reporting and resolution with the subject matter experts within the enterprise as well as interfacing with DoD/DLA and Contractor personnel.
  • Performs pro-active monitoring for performance and availability of underlying architectural layers (i.e. application, network, and server) to assure compliance with prescribed performance measures and/or availability.
  • Serves as functional authority on one or more systems supporting the ITOC, including but not limited to e-Health, HP OpenView Network Node Manager, HP Business Service Management (BSM), Remedy, Checkpoint Firewall NG, and ArcSight.
  • Prepares a variety of administrative reports and studies related to the DLA IT enterprise for management's evaluation and analysis of operations.

Requirements

To qualify for an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Analyzes data and outputs collected by all sources to conduct root cause analysis and similar duties typically associated with impact management - Researches current information technology marketing sources and recommends purchase of improved knowledge base tools and technologies. - Performs proactive monitoring of network elements and applications, alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing degradation or loss of availability of critical IT services. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
