Refractory Bricklayers perform a variety of specialized masonry and refractory construction tasks, including:

Laying and installing refractory brick and other masonry materials.
Cutting and fitting brick and refractory materials to specifications.
Building forms and preparing areas for refractory installations.
Mixing, pouring, and hand-packing castable refractory materials.
Welding and performing related installation and repair work.
Applying refractory materials using gunite equipment.
Removing and repairing damaged refractory materials.
Reading and following project plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
Working safely around industrial equipment, elevated work areas, heat, dust, and other job-site conditions.

Refractory Bricklayers may work on industrial facilities, plants, commercial projects, and other specialized construction sites.
